TEELING Whiskey Small Batch Gift Box

This Whiskey challenges the convention of what an Irish Whiskey can be, with layers of unique flavour influenced by unconventional cask maturation techniques.

Hand-selected casks of grain and malt whiskey are initially fully aged in Ex-Bourbon barrels, then married together in Central American Rum casks for up to 12 months for a unique, dried fruit profile.

CEREALS

The corn/grain element of the blend brings a distinct sweetness, acting as a canvas for the rich, roasted caramel / toffee character of the malted barley.

EX-BOURBON CASKS

The grain and malt whiskeys are aged separetely in ex-bourbon barrels, in a ration of roughly 3:1, grain to malt. Vanilla and oak notes are imparted at this stage.

RUM CASKS

Blending in small batches and finishing in Central American rum casks, allow the grain and malt whiskey to marry and take on a subtle dried fruit character.

TASTING NOTES

COLOR: In the glass, Teeling Small Batch appears bright gold, with amber sparkles that catch the light vibrantly. Its warm, deep colour invites exploration, revealing a slightly viscous consistency that anticipates a smooth, silky texture on the palate.

NOSE: As the glass approaches, a symphony of aromas unfolds in the air. First impressions are dominated by fresh, fruity notes: ripe peach, tropical pineapple and a light essence of green apple, which provide a juicy and refreshing sensation. As the whisky breathes, sweet nuances of honey and caramel emerge, complemented by a soft touch of nutmeg and vanilla. The influence of the rum casks used in its maturation is present with a subtle spicy fragrance and a layer of creamy sweetness that envelops the fresher aromas. The whole is harmonious, inviting a deeper immersion in its complexities.

TASTE: On the palate, Teeling Small Batch reveals itself with a silky, light texture, which glides smoothly over the palate. The first impact is one of natural sweetness, reminiscent of ripe fruits: pineapple and peach combine with a softness of vanilla and caramel, creating an extremely pleasant entrance. As the whisky progresses, layers of soft spice appear: a hint of cinnamon, a whisper of ginger and a light woodiness that adds depth and warmth to the profile. The fruity nuances evolve towards a more mature sensation, while the subtly spiced background leaves a lingering softness in the aftertaste. The finish is long and balanced, with a soft touch of rum that rounds out the experience, leaving an elegant and refined imprint.
