GLENMORANGIE The Nectar d'Or

This whisky was born from the memory of entering a pastry shop for the very first time. It’s about that first moment of finding your senses deliciously overwhelmed, breathing in the sweet scents and wishing you could take a bite of every creamy, flaky treat you see. In Nectar D’Or you can taste it all.

To create it, we take the delicate, fruity spirit of our giraffe-high stills and age it in American oak bourbon casks along with casks that once held Sauternes sweet white wine. The outcome is like a silky dessert-filled daydream of white chocolate swirled with lemon cream, crème caramel, almond croissants... all balanced by a soft drumbeat of spice. Each sip is like sending your senses on holiday to a French patisserie.

TASTING NOTES

COLOR: In the glass, Glenmorangie The Nectar d'Or displays a deep, bright and captivating golden colour, with warm reflections evoking the luminosity of golden honey or freshly polished amber. The rich and vibrant hue is due to its double maturation: first in American oak barrels and then in Sauternes barrels, which give it that special warmth that translates into a visually attractive and deeply elegant whisky.

NOSE: The first approach to the nose reveals a subtle and enveloping complexity. Delicate notes of ripe fruit are immediately perceived, with a clear predominance of apricot, peach and a suggestion of pear. These fruity notes are complemented by soft floral touches, evoking the fragrance of freshly opened spring flowers. As the whisky is oxygenated, sweeter and warmer aromas emerge, such as fresh honey, creamy vanilla and a touch of light spices, such as ginger and cinnamon. There is an almost ethereal delicacy to its aromatic profile, which is enriched by a subtle sensation of toasted nuts, giving a sense of depth and refinement.

TASTE: On the palate, The Nectar d'Or offers a smooth and velvety experience, with a silky texture that glides easily. The entry is sweet and enveloping, with a softness reminiscent of liquid honey, followed by an explosion of ripe fruits such as apricot and pear. The influence of the Sauternes barrels is clearly noticeable, providing a natural sweetness that is perfectly balanced by the oak notes that emerge later. As it develops, light spicy touches emerge, with a delicate aftertaste of fresh ginger and vanilla. There is a persistence on the palate, with a long, warm finish that leaves a hint of lightly toasted nuts, giving a touch of sophistication. The combination of fruity, spicy and sweet flavors is harmonious and balanced, making each sip a unique and pleasant experience.
