"The second batch of 2015 Booker's® Bourbon is composed of barrels aged between January 2007 and February 2008. I really liked the nose of this batch. It has a nice balance of vanilla with some light citrus notes.
Booker's® Bourbon is proud to release the second batch of its 2015 collection of limited edition releases, celebrating Dot, the faithful companion of founding distiller Booker Noe. Booker's® Bourbon Batch 2015-02 features a custom label depicting Booker Noe's cherished Jack Russell Terrier, a small litter animal brought home as a surprise for Booker's wife and nicknamed for the unique brown spot on her back. Known for always being by Booker's side, Dot is commemorated with Lot 2015-02, called "Dot's Lot." Uncut and created in very limited quantities - like all previous Booker's®Bourbon batches - "Dot's Batch" features the robust flavor and natural alcohol content that Booker's Bourbon is known for.
TASTING NOTES
COLOR: A deep gold with amber highlights, this bourbon has a warm, rich hue that invites you to discover its complexity. The intensity of its colour reflects the ageing in oak barrels, suggesting a robust structure and well-developed flavours.
NOSE: As you bring the glass closer, the first impression is of a powerful and enveloping aroma. Hints of vanilla and caramel emerge clearly, complemented by a subtle layer of toasted wood. Over time, more complex notes appear, such as ripe apricot and a slight spicy touch reminiscent of cinnamon and cloves. The alcohol, although present due to the high barrel content, is not invasive, but rather enhances the depth of the fragrance.
TASTE: The attack on the palate is immediate and firm, with a warmth that unfolds generously. Flavors of burnt caramel and vanilla blend with a spicy profile of black pepper and a slight acidity reminiscent of ripe fruit. The aftertaste is long and lingering, with a hint of smoky wood blending with a delicate bitterness that gives balance and character to the finish. The high alcohol content feels powerful but controlled, giving a sense of fullness and complexity without being overwhelming.
