Krug Clos du Mesnil is an exceptional champagne that represents the best of tradition and innovation from the house of Krug. Sourced from a small parcel of Chardonnay in the Clos du Mesnil vineyard, located in the celebrated Côtes des Blancs region, this wine is a unique example of terroir. Made exclusively from grapes from a single harvest, its production is limited and only released in exceptional vintages. With a long aging that gives it a unique complexity, Clos du Mesnil is a tribute to the craftsmanship of the house and the uniqueness of its vineyard.

It is a blanc de blancs made only with chardonnay.

TASTING NOTES 

COLOR: As it is poured into the glass, it reveals a brilliant gold colour and a delicate, persistent bubble, which rises elegantly in a fine string of pearls. Its hue evokes sunlight on a field of ripe grapes, reflecting the purity of the Chardonnay from Le Mesnil-sur-Oger.

NOSE: The first contact with the air reveals a fragile complexity, like the delicate perfume of white flowers at dawn, mixed with a subtle touch of fresh citrus. Over time, notes of fine bakery emerge, like a lightly toasted brioche and a mineral background reminiscent of the limestone of its terroir. There is also a thin layer of ripe white fruits, such as apple and pear, which intertwine with a sensation of creaminess that invites you to discover more.

TASTE: On the palate, a vibrant freshness is revealed, with a precise acidity that marks the rhythm of each sip. The palate is light and elegant, but at the same time has a captivating depth, with the silky texture of a wine that has matured in contact with its lees for years. Stone fruit flavours are perceived, accompanied by a mineral touch that runs through the palate. The persistence is impressive, leaving an aftertaste reminiscent of a touch of almond and a delicate smokiness, offering a very broad finish.
