Su nombre, 281, hace referencia al distintivo color azul Pantone que decora su botella, un homenaje al mar Mediterráneo y a la influencia que tiene sobre los viñedos de Minuty. Este azul intenso también simboliza la ambición visionaria de Etienne Matton.
