TASTING NOTES
COLOR: A deep gold, with copper and orange highlights, denoting full maturation in oak barrels, probably with a touch of sherry barrel influence, giving it a warm and attractive appearance.
NOSE: It presents with a powerful and distinctive burst of smoke and peat, which is immediately characteristic of the distillery. There is a deep layer of ash, damp earth and a hint of sea salt reminiscent of the Islay coastal breeze. As it opens, sweet notes of honey, vanilla and a slight hint of tropical fruits (ripe pineapple and banana) emerge. Hints of smoky wood, spice and a slight aftertaste of dark cocoa and nuts are also perceptible.
TASTE: The mouthfeel is rich and robust, with an initial surge of intense peat and smoke, which intertwine with notes of dried fruits, such as raisins and figs, and a subtle softness reminiscent of honey and vanilla. There is a slowly unfolding complexity, with a slight bitterness coming from the wood and a touch of sea salt that refreshes the palate. The finish is long and warm, with a lingering aftertaste of ash, spice and a subtle hint of sherry that leaves an elegant, enveloping sensation.
