TASTING NOTES
COLOR: When looking at the MOËT & CHANDON Grand Vintage, the wine reveals a resplendent golden colour, like a setting sun radiating in the glass. Its warm and bright tone reflects its meticulous maturation, while a fine stream of bubbles slowly rises, creating a delicate effervescent necklace on the surface. The bubbles, compact and persistent, give a sensation of elegance that anticipates the complexity to come.
NOSE: The nose opens generously, revealing a combination of complex aromas that invite exploration. On first inhalation, ripe and juicy fruits stand out, such as golden pears and green apples, wrapped in a subtle layer of citrus. Over time, the fruity notes give way to a deeper profile, showing tones of candied fruits, such as peaches in syrup and a sweet touch of acacia honey. The influence of the aging time in the cellar also leaves its mark, with aromas of freshly baked bread and a light fragrance of toasted nuts. A soft floral undertone, reminiscent of white flowers such as jasmine and acacia, adds an additional dimension to this complex and evocative bouquet.
TASTE: On the palate, the MOËT & CHANDON Grand Vintage is a wine of great elegance and sophistication. The entry is fresh and vibrant, with well-integrated acidity that provides a sense of vivacity and balance. The texture is creamy, a result of its maturation on lees, which gives a notable complexity to the palate. The initial fruity flavours of ripe apple and pear merge smoothly with a toasty touch, reminiscent of brioche bread and browned butter. As the wine evolves on the palate, more sophisticated flavours emerge, such as lightly toasted almonds, hazelnuts and a slight vanilla nuance that combines with the subtlety of sweet spices. Its body is full, but not heavy, and the bubbles provide a sense of lightness that maintains freshness. The finish is long and persistent, with an aftertaste that leaves a trace of dried fruit, a touch of honey and a delicate saline nuance that underlines its elegance and depth.
