A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and occasionally a small amount of Petit Verdot to best represent the complex and elegant terroir found in Bolgheri. This wine has been produced since 1990 from vineyards on alluvial soils whose composition ranges from clay-sand to clay-loam with rocky deposits known as “scheletro”.
TASTING NOTES
COLOR: It presents itself with a deep and vibrant red color, reminiscent of a bright ruby with slight garnet nuances on the edge. Its visual intensity suggests significant concentration and promises a complexity in the mouth that does not disappoint. The clarity and depth of its color are a reflection of a careful harvest and a precise winemaking process.
NOSE: The nose of this wine is broad and enveloping, unfolding in complex layers that invite exploration. At first glance, intense aromas of ripe black fruits such as blackberries, currants and dark cherries are perceived, which are mixed with subtle floral touches. With time in the glass, the wine reveals spicy notes of black pepper and a delicate touch of clove that give it a pleasant complexity. The well-integrated oak wood provides a slight nuance of vanilla and cocoa, while a slight sensation of tobacco and a slight touch of leather add depth and character to the fragrance, suggesting its aging in French oak barrels.
TASTE: On the palate, Guado al Tasso displays great presence and elegance. The tannins are firm and well-structured, but at the same time soft and velvety, giving the wine a very pleasant and silky texture. The acidity is vibrant, perfectly balancing the concentration of fruit and the complexity of the wood, which provides freshness and a sense of harmony. The fruit profile remains lively and expressive throughout the palate, highlighting the flavors of dark fruits such as blackberry and cassis, while the spicy notes remain present, adding layers of sophistication. The finish is long and persistent, with an elegant aftertaste of ripe fruit, hints of oak and a subtle mineral nuance that provides a sense of elegance and complexity. This wine has a remarkable ageing capacity, so it can be enjoyed both in its youth and after a few more years in the bottle.
