ARDBEG Auriverdes

Ardbeg Auriverdes 'one of the brands of whisky collection, is an Islay Single Malt Scotch, limited edition from the Scottish region of Islay.

As every year Ardbeg launches an exclusive and limited edition on the occasion of ArdbegDay, in 2014 was the occasion of Ardbeg Auriverdes. This edition aims to pay tribute to the Fifa World Cup held in Brazil in the same year. 

Matured in American oak barrels with differently toasted tops, which give the whiskey notes of mocha coffee and creamy vanilla.

Its name comes from Portuguese, from the union of Auri (gold) and verde, green gold.

TASTING NOTES

COLOR: A brilliant gold, with glints that catch the light like rays of sunlight at dawn, showing a deep richness and complexity that promises a unique experience from the first glance.

NOSE: The first impression is an enveloping cloud of smoke, characteristic of its origin, which slowly dissipates to give way to more subtle layers of ripe fruits, such as baked apple and a delicate touch of vanilla. As it aerates, spicy notes reminiscent of oak emerge, along with a soft touch of wild flowers and fresh herbs, revealing a complexity that invites you to discover more with each breath.

TASTE: On the palate, the whisky shows a harmonious combination of peaty intensity and unexpected smoothness. The smoke unfolds firmly, but is softened by sweet and saline nuances that intertwine with tropical fruits and a slight hint of caramel. There is an almost creamy feel to the texture, while spicy oak notes and a touch of saltiness provide the perfect balance. The finish is long, enveloping and persistently savory, leaving a soft trace of spice and a sense of warmth that lingers on the palate, inviting further exploration.
