The Valbuena 5º Tinto 2019 is an emblematic wine from the Vega Sicilia winery, one of the most prestigious in the Ribera del Duero. Made with the best grapes from the estate, this wine reflects the mastery and tradition of the winery in the creation of wines with great personality and longevity. With careful aging in oak barrels, the Valbuena 5º Tinto is a reflection of the winemaking excellence of the region, showing a complexity and balance that make it a benchmark in Spanish viticulture, ideal for those looking for a wine with character and depth.
BLEND
The blend combines mainly Tempranillo, with small doses of Cabernet Sauvignon, creating an ideal balance between fruit, complexity and structure.
TASTING NOTES
COLOR: The VALBUENA 5º 2019 is a deep ruby red color, of medium-high intensity, which dazzles with violet flashes in its youth. As the wine is oxygenated in the glass, its tones become more intense, reflecting its potential for evolution in the bottle.
NOSE: On the nose, it is a sensory journey that goes far beyond fruit. At first, fresh and vibrant aromas of red fruits are perceived, such as ripe cherries and wild blackberries, which give way to increasing complexity. Delicate notes of dried herbs, soft spices (such as cloves and white pepper), and a subtle mineral charge reminiscent of earth and rocks emerge. With time in the glass, hints of dark cocoa and a subtle smokiness appear, a testament to its aging in oak.
TASTE: On the palate, the wine shows an elegant and polished structure, with vibrant acidity that balances its medium body and refined tannins. The red fruit is still present, but it is enriched with layers of velvet and complexity: cocoa, dried herbs and a slight vanilla sensation from the well-integrated oak. It is a long wine, with an aftertaste that invites you to continue exploring its many nuances. The minerality, so characteristic of the Ribera del Duero, gives it a dry finish, with excellent persistence, which leaves a fresh and enveloping sensation.
