Armand de Brignac Gold Brut was the first cuvée introduced into the portfolio and is the flagship. The Cattier family's ambition during a New Year's celebration in Chigny-les-Roses was to create the finest prestige cuvée for the 21st century, while still reflecting the rich traditions of Champagne viticulture. Thus, mastery of blending - vintages, terroirs and grape varieties - is at the heart of Armand de Brignac's philosophy.
BLENDING
40% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Meunier.
TASTING NOTES
COLOUR: Intense golden with fine bubbles.
NOSE: Aromas of peach, apricot and red berries are followed by crystallised citrus, orange blossom and hints of brioche.
TASTE: The palate is rich with cherries, exotic fruits and a touch of lemon, vanilla and honey. The mouthfeel is smooth and creamy, with a hint of toast, from the exclusive Armand de Brignac dosage aged for a year in French oak barrels.
FINISH: Good, long finish. Mellow but dry.
FOOD PAIRING
Ideal as an aperitif or to accompany scallops, roast quail and freshwater fish.
