Ichiro's Malt Hanyu The Final Vintage is a limited edition of Japanese whisky that marks the close of an era in the history of the Hanyu distillery. Coming from the last casks of this historic distillery, which ceased production in 2000, this bottle has become an object of desire for collectors and enthusiasts. Created under the direction of Ichiro Akuto, grandson of the founder, this whisky symbolises the legacy of a distilling tradition that, although disappeared, lives on in the quality and exclusivity of its products. A unique piece that represents the close of an essential chapter in the world of Japanese whisky.
TASTING NOTES
COLOR: The whiskey has a deep, bright golden hue, reflecting its time in oak barrels. The light caresses it warmly, suggesting a maturity that invites exploration and anticipates a complex experience.
NOSE: As the nose approaches, elegant aromas of ripe fruit emerge, with a mix of apricot and dried fig, followed by a subtle hint of wildflower honey. The well-integrated oak displays notes of mild spice, such as cinnamon and nutmeg, which intertwine with hints of vanilla and a slight nuance of sweet tobacco, adding depth.
TASTE: It presents with an enveloping smoothness and creamy texture. The flavor opens with a rich raisin fruit sweetness and light acidity that balances the richness. As the whiskey moves across the palate, layers of dark chocolate, toasted nuts and a smoky touch emerge and lengthen into a smooth but lingering finish, with echoes of spicy wood lingering. It is a sophisticated experience, with a complexity that invites to be savored slowly.
