Manual destemming and rigorous selection berry by berry. Pre-fermentative cold maceration at 6oC for 5 days. Fermented in small oak vats of 20 hectolitres capacity with autochthonous yeast selected from the vineyard itself. Malolactic fermentation in new French oak barrels.
Aged for 16 months in new French oak barrels.
TASTING NOTES
COLOR: The 2021 La Nieta appears in the glass with a bright red of medium-high intensity, reminiscent of a deep ruby with subtle violet sparkles. As it moves, the layer shows good density and transparency, reflecting its youth and freshness. This vibrant tone invites you to explore its visual complexities before even approaching the nose.
NOSE: From the first moment, the wine displays a dominant fresh red fruit, with notes of ripe cherry, raspberry and a subtle hint of wild strawberry that makes it extremely attractive. As it is aerated, additional layers of complexity appear: violet flowers that provide a delicate fragrance, accompanied by a light trace of aromatic herbs reminiscent of rosemary. In the background, soft spices emerge, such as white pepper and cinnamon, accompanied by a touch of vanilla and a delicate nuance of toasted wood that comes from its aging, perfectly balancing the freshness of the fruit with the warmth of the wood.
TASTE: The entry into the mouth is smooth and enveloping, with a medium structure that feels silky thanks to the integration of its fine, almost velvety tannins. The fruit remains vibrant and expressive, with a sensation of freshness that provides a lot of vivacity, but at the same time a body that gives presence. The acidity is perfectly balanced, giving the wine a prolonged freshness that invites you to continue drinking. In the aftertaste, notes of ripe red fruits are perceived, such as black plum, together with a subtle touch of liquorice and a slight hint of cocoa that lengthens into an elegant and persistent finish. This wine is characterized by a balance between fruit and spice, creating an enveloping and complex tasting experience.
